I wanted to take the time to thank you for doing the right thing. It isn't always easy, as you know, but that is what your duty to you patients require. Just as you place your life into the hands of others when you fly, call the police, fire department, etc., WE, place our lives, faith and trust in you and the VA to "Do No Harm" when we seek help.
Normally an organization would have the safeguards, regulations, policies, and physical inspections to ensure compliance with patient safety. In your case, you had to reverse roles and bring the organization to task. I know this must have cost you emotionally as well as financially but you did do the right thing for ALL the right reasons.
I never thought I would say this, but Thank You for protecting us from our own government!
